At 402 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Taylorsville, or over West Valley City, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Murray, Bountiful, Park City, West Jordan, Taylorsville, South Jordan, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights, Midvale, Holladay, South Salt Lake, Herriman, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross, Summit Park, and Millcreek. This includes the following highways... Interstate 15 between mile markers 293 and 315. Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 113 and 144.

Recommended Action

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southern Davis County in northern Utah... Northern Salt Lake County in northern Utah... * WHEN...Until 700 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 345 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding across southern Davis and northern Salt Lake Counties. Between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
