HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Weather spotters reported funnel cloud. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This dangerous storm will be near... Layton, Morgan, and South Weber around 150 PM MDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Mountain Green, Portersville, East Layton, Stoddard, Peterson, Fruit Heights, Richville, and Snowbasin. At 114 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles southwest of Syracuse, or 15 miles southwest of Layton, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Layton, Roy, Clearfield, Kaysville, Syracuse, Clinton, Hooper, Great Salt Lake South of the Causeway, West Haven, West Point, Sunset, and Antelope Island State Park. This storm will be capable of producing strong gusty winds on the Great Salt Lake. This will lead to a sudden increase in waves and very choppy waters which will result in hazardous boating conditions. Boaters are urged to seek safe harbor if possible. This includes Interstate 15 between mile markers 330 and 336.
