Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... San Antonio, Schertz, Cibolo, Converse, Universal City, Live Oak, Selma, Castroville, San Antonio Int Airport, Stinson Municipal Airport, Randolph AFB, Leon Valley, Helotes, Fair Oaks Ranch, Kirby, Alamo Heights, Windcrest, Terrell Hills, Bulverde and Shavano Park.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Primary and secondary roads and bridges will begin to see flooding from above Kelly USA to below I-35. Flow approaches horse barns and homes below Kelly USA. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 5.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 16.4 feet late this afternoon. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Very humid tropical air and a stalling front will result in heavy rain.
